Old time delta blues and slide guitar

My passion is old time down-home blues music, mostly dating from the 20s and 30s. I play a variety acoustic and resonator guitars- with and without a bottleneck slide, in the fingerpicking style- rather than strumming. I play songs ranging from thumping delta blues, to bouncy ragtime numbers, as well as a few of my own tunes. My ever-growing repertoire includes songs by the likes of Robert Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy, Charley Patton, Blind Blake and Mississipi John Hurt, as well as many other more obscure names. I have been playing and singing for many years and played for a while with a 4 piece acoustic covers band, The New Meanies, at pubs and beer festivals in East Anglia.

I now play mainly solo, in the style of the majority of my 1930s delta blues heroes.

I now live in Somerset and enjoy playing in pubs, clubs, beer festivals, village days, open mics and so on.

In the Spring of 2014, I released my first CD- Moonshine.  More details and full preview of all tracks is available via Bandcamp- see the 'Album' link above.
